Taro Makihara / Herringbone Mug①

This is a herringbone patterned mug by Taro Makihara from Hiroshima.

Size: Diameter 6.5 x height approximately 9 cm

This is Makihara's masterpiece. A herringbone pattern in which each line is drawn by hand (not the so-called inlay technique). The fact that the glaze is applied separately to the surface, top, and bottom may be a little confusing when you consider the amount of time and effort that goes into it, but thanks to this process, it is a wonderful item that can be called a masterpiece.

He delivered a lot of work even though he told me that it was difficult because he had to do so much detailed work that he developed tendonitis. I would appreciate it if you could appreciate and admire Mr. Makihara's wrist.
